Just came home from the Jeff Berlin clinic at Guitar Center. There were a lot of guys there. I met a few who say they post here on talkbass. Jeff was very entertaining and really has strong opinions about playing the bass. He really believes that we all have built in rhythm.

He sounded great with his signature Jeff Berlin Markbass amps and he only used a Carl Martin chorus for effects once in a while. The president of DR strings, Mark Dronge, was there too. Jeff had people come up on stage and show them how to play better. He literally helped them in minutes.

He really stressed how important it is to learn to read music and to practice chord scales rather than straight scales.
The best part was that he was really nice and he even talked about what it was like to work with Jaco.

I was there, standing in the back. He put on a fantastic clinic, and though he stressed a lot of concepts that I was already thoroughly familiar with it was nice to hear him speaking so candidly in person and of course he played great too.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I'm a newbie to bass so I learned a lot. I was the guy taking all the pictures with the huge Nikon and flash. If you want any pics, email me. I took crowd shots too. You are probably in there.
