Fretless bass and no way back?

I dunno if these is the right forum, so move it if it's not, please.

Since i got my Squier VM Fretless in december, i barely touched my fretted instruments. 2 weeks ago, i was playing for this carnival-band and took the Fretless as well as the fretted P-Bass. I thought I'd start on the P-Bass and after about 4 Songs my left hand was so exhausted. Playing the P demanded so much left-hand strenght.

Then i switched to the Fretless and was blissfull about how much more easy and effordless it was. It makes me consider getting a Fretless-Neck for the P.

Did you experience something that too? What did you do at that point?

I got a bit overzealous with my fretless when I first got it modded the way I like, didn't touch any of my other basses, but after a while I came to my senses.

I play them all just about evenly now.

I mostly used the fretless for practicing, intonation and all... but mostly use the fretted instruments in a band setting.

I'm thinking of going fretless, because I'm at the point where I can hear every little note that is out of tune, even on the nicest fretted basses. I trust my ear better than my setups.

I have a hard time playing fretted instruments anymore - the frets are like speed bumps.

I actually started on a fretless, flirted with a few fretted basses over a decade, and eventually gave up on fretted bass completely about 25 years ago. No regrets at all in my case.
