Friction?

Sign in to disble this ad
Someone must have hit on this topic by now so please humor me.

Is there any treatment or oil or conditioning that might make the friction factor more consistant without effecting the string tones?

On occasion, my picking fingers can get grippy enough to mess with my playing.
Cleaning before playing isn't always enough.

I've tried some string and neck treatments but I'd rather not tear down and boil the strings after each session, as they seem to effect string tone.

Don't lube the strings, lube your fingers.

You can always find a little bit of oil or sweat on your face, for me it's just a quick stroke down my cheeks on the sides of my nose with my index and middle fingers on either side of it. You instantly get friction free plucking.
