Full range Amps for a powered PA speaker

Sign in to disble this ad
I have no trouble getting my hands on Subwoofer amps that can be built in to a speaker to make it active. But I need something full range. It's actually for a keyboard player friend of mine. He hes requested it be around 500W and as light as possible.

I've spotted this one, but it's only 250W.

I've also spotted one from Powersoft but I'm too scared to ask how much it is:-

So I guess I'm looking for something in between. Any suggestions?

These look potentially interesting: http://www.cadaudio.dk/amplifierkits.htm

How about just buying a module from JBL, QSC, or whoever? Or gutting a Behringer?

Hmmmm... it seems this project is going to be harder than I thought.

Has anyone ever bought a dedicated Sub amp, something like
THIS , then by-passed the crossover section all together so the signal arives at the amp full range?

How hard would it be? Will it sound any good?
