Funk song stuck in my head....

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey I heard a song on the radio in my gym class today and Ive heard it before but I cant figure out who its by or the title.

The beginning starts with 3 crashes and then it goes into an awesome funk jam. The bass is really simple and sticks to a few notes the majority of the song but it really grooves. I couldnt hear the lyrics but all I could really hear was "Heeeeeeyyyy" at the beginning of every verse.

Any help???

haha I know Im sorry!

I cant think of anything else to help though because it wasnt loud enough. I assume its fairly popular seeing it was played on the radio.

Anyone think they know what it is?

Right when I read the "Heeeeeeeeey" with funky feel I knew it was "Fame" by David Bowie, mainly because I always thought he said "Heeeeeeeey" as well until this past year. Ha ha.

Funny...I've never thought of "Fame" as a funk song... it's a... Well, a Bowie song, which makes it just kinda strange.

I have always thought of "Fame" as a Funk song...how about the guitar, bass & drum parts? C'mon.

Back when "Fame" was a hit, my then-friends who were totally into Rock (they hated Disco & presumed Funk was Disco)...loved "Fame" & hated it when I said "...since you like "Fame", you must like Funk".

John Lennon co-wrote that song with Bowie and Bowie's guitar player. I think you can actually hear a bit of Lennon-esque in it.
