Or Funk Frustration ! (Sorry, crapy english) With the respect that the genre and players deserve, i'm not a Rocker bassist, i just like listen to some 90's rock bands, but i'm mainly a Modern Funk-Fusion (in the way to learning jazz) bassist, and most of the musicians seems to dislike this music, al least here in my city...

It has become very difficult to find musicians who have same music directions as me, it's always rock, and IMO rock music can be boring sometimes for bassplayers, there's always rock musicians who tell me "Hey i like funk dude, let's play together" but they actually can't manage the concepts of this music regarding technique and harmony, and hope you guys understand what i mean, I'm not being arrogant...

I wish I could live in the US..

This is the music i like if you are interested

It's a no brainer to throw some Chili Peppers in their direction, it's impossible to dislike.

I'd argue that .

@FunkyMan Dude... that second track is SIIIIIICK. I can't wait for Hadrien's next album!

As far as the music you play and your local scene, you might just have to deal with it or move. Music is fickle by nature and varies greatly depending on where you are. Where I live gospel, funk, neo-soul, and R&B are big but go 20 minutes or so north and it's all rock, head up even further another 20 minutes (Baltimore) and you'll get just about anything. And once you get into Washington, DC it's a different scene altogether.
