Funniest "smashing of instrument" on stage

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just thinking about people smashing their instruments of stage and just how funny it can be. This is probably a less known one but none the less funny. Yngwie Malmsteen smashing up a strat on stage in the G3 gig, you actually see him giving his special one (scalloped fret board etc) to his tech guy and then he gets some unbranded one out and smashes it There is probably loads of incidences of funny 'smashings'

Probably not funny, but the most unique i've seen so far.
at the end of this one.

Edit: Oh crap, I forgot which vid.

On the Killswitch Engage concert
Basically he used an axe to smash his guitar.

Not on stage, but Tool shot a piano with a shotgun after giving it a sledgehammer treatment.

On Smothers Brothers, Pete Townshend smashed his guitar, then the host came on stage with his own guitar, and Pete smashed that one too.

how about when the guy from Nirvana threw his bass up in the air and it came down and smashed him on the head, knocking him out. I think it was @ the MTV awards or something. What an a-hole

I remember a real a-hole drummer violently kicking over the drums and symbols at the end of his band's set, made a real show out of it and a hell of a racket, then just walks off stage. Total Keith Moon wannabe.
Problem is, the drums actually belonged to the drummer of the last band on that night who was nice enough to let 3 other bands use them.... oops. Someone hopefully got their *ss kicked later.

it's on the Live! Tonight! Sold Out! dvd but it doesn't knock him out... he throws a guitar body up in the air and tries to hit it using a guitar/bass neck as a bat but it hits him on the head on the way down

it doesn't knock him out though

Speaking about pathetic, I once saw Hole play at Lollapalooza. The guitarist (Eric?) at first smashed his guitar into the stage, but it didn't break. He then threw it high into the air letting fall on the stage. It didn't break. He repeated these action multiple times, but the guitar stayed intact. The audience started chanting "wussy, wussy" (well, not quite that word, can't write the actual one) until it finally broke.

The most pathetic guitar smashing "spectacle" was Garth Brooks. Why on earth would a chubby redneck have cause to smash a guitfiddle? Gee, I wonder...

Meh, that wasn't quite clear at showing he got hit by "The Flying Bass".
I thought the bass body would hit him square on the head or something. Now THAT will be STUPID!

Doesn't the strap button permanently dent his head? That's pretty messed up.

Krist Novoselic must have made a habit of being hit by self-propelled basses because that youtube video is different to the one on the 'LTSO' dvd...

funny guy

I'm specifically talking about the guitar player. I guess he had been having rig problems all night, and finally just gives up and throws a tantrum. He just looks like a five year old leaning against his cabs like that.

I understand Cedric saying what he did and getting off stage, though.

When I saw Motley Crue in Detroit (don't ask why-- yeah they suck but Aerosmith was the main band,) whatever their stupid bassist's name was played a Squier P for the last song (some crappy popular song) and smashed it. The whole rest of the "show" he was playing a [terribly neck diving] signature thunderbird.

Oh yeah, Nikki Sixx.

Off topic: What's the bassists setup here? He sounds like Live at Leeds John Entwistle almost... killer tone.
