G&G cases

In the event that someone out there has ran into the same situation, I just wanted to share a very pleasant experience I had with G&G Quality Case Company, located in the City of Los Angeles California. I own a Hagstrom HIIB bass guitar. It’s a short scale instrument; however, based on its distinctive design, I had difficulty finding an “off the shelf” hard-shell case that would fit properly.

I first called SKB cases with the hopes of finding an economical solution but they were not interested in one man’s plight. I then remembered a place I visited about 25 years ago called G&G. I looked them up on the net and they had me come over. I explained that after my divorce, I’m on beans and rice for the next nine years and couldn’t put a lot of money into a fancy one-off case, so they brought out a long scale bass shell from their “re-work” department, which had some extremely minor scuffs on one side. They said if I approve the case, they could re-form the interior to secure my bass. Per the attached pictures, G&G cut special foam pieces and re-arranged some of the internal components.

If someone wanted to spend more money, G&G certainly had other shell designs and premium type options. They do beautiful work. I walked out with an “as new” case for my Hagstrom for $100.00.

I am so happy to have a good case that will protect my bass properly. The person that helped me is the daughter of one of the owners and although she was extremely busy, made me feel like my business was important. G&G makes cases for Fender, G&L, etc, so they definitely have bigger fish to fry.
Still, they helped me out within my budget constraints. I wouldn’t expect a deal like this for everyone who walked in. I think I just had good timing.
Very happy.

I have & use several G & G cases. They've done a few custom ones for me, and each and every time there have been no surprises. One of those old fashioned companies still making everything by hand in the USA, and doing it well.

Nice story, nice folks.

They were very helpful getting me all the parts to repair the latches on my '70's Fender case.
