To make a long story short, my (wonderful) mother is taking care of me as I recover from swine flu + pneumonia. But I left my basses at my house near my college campus. When my flu was at its worst I didn't really feel like playing (or eating, drinking, living, etc.) but now that I'm actually conscious I'm going crazy. I just received a gorgeous new SX fretless P that I barely felt like playing and now it's all I want to do

How should I fill the time, musically, until I get home to my babies? Is there a point in studying scales without an instrument in hand? Should I write songs? CAN I write songs? What would you guys do?

I just got over swine.. It sucks man, I know your pain. I didnt play for about 2 weeks, I just had no want to do it or anything else.

Listen to music and browse TB! Im serious, it ket me sane. Listen to new bands, buy a few new albums and listen to the bass parts, and browse TB.

Hey, you survived it.

Mr. Crawford, you are a true bro. I think you were one of the first people to post in my "New poster day" thread. How are your P-Basses treating you?

I've actually been listening to the basslines laid down by Guigsy from Oasis. I recommend giving the song "Cast No Shadow" a listen.

Also, "Cars and Calories" by Saves the Day. Saves the Day's bassist Eben D'Amico (now ex-bassist) got me into bass.

ALSO, one of my favorite bands, Hot Hot Heat, is soon releasing a new album with a new bassist. The guy plays a Fender Jaguar. I don't think I've ever heard such an aggressive sound from bass. Check it out.
