GAME: What genra of music is bass guitar the most important?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm proposing a game.
Read the damn rules.
Please only ad +1 to 1 category, and -1 to 1 category a day. After -10 a genre is eliminated. Copy and past the previous post and edit it so that it reflects the values of your vote as well.

+1 goes to the genre you believe bass plays the most crucial roll in.
-1 goes to the genre you think it is unimportant in.

I tried to keep this simple. Please don't add in sub genres. So, no death metal when metal will suffice please. However....If you feel I really missed something BIG that needs to be in here....let me know before you post it please.

Tough call for the +1 between R&B, Reggae, and Jazz.. Gave it to jazz since it has less points

I didn't add a plus one because you need to put Funk on this list first

I've added prog Rock because I thought the sub genre was so different than standard Rock that it needed to be added. Also, I think bass in prog Rock is crucial while in rock (ex. : AC/DC) it is pretty useless

Well, then you have to ad Stoner rock, and Southern rock, and Emo, and alternative, and punk, and pop punk, and early punk, and then you have to add Faith no more, because they are different than many other metal bands. And Soul is different than R&B, and gospel and praise and worship.

I digress.
I guess leaving a few in here is not too bad, it just makes the game go on forever :/

I say this as in Jazz anything that makes noise is just as important as the other instrument and everyone and everything gets a solo.

Reggae is bass guitar, its the bread to the innards of the music.
