Wow, what a huge loss. Back on the Streets and Corridors of Power were required daily listening material for me back in High School, and I always thought he displayed a superb balance of speed, soulfulness and musicianship, especially in his heavier rock playing.
Rest in Peace, Gary - you will be missed & remembered.

Oh no!!! RIP Gary Moore

One of the world's great guitarists passed away today, aged just 58. What a real shame. RIP Gary.

Sad news. As a guitarist, I aspire to be as well-rounded and tasteful as Gary Moore. I'm especially a fan of his solo blues work, and I'm thankful that the recorded legacy will live on. RIP Gary.

He's still got the blues. The band in heaven has got a new lead guitar.

A true "Guitar Hero" if ever there was one. Loved his stuff with Colosseum II. I'm really upset by this.

This is really sad. "Still Got The Blues For You" is one of my all-time favorite songs. And it wasn't just that one. He was a phenomenal guitarist. RIP, Gary...

This really sucks... When I was 13, I thought he was the best guitar player in the world...
Still get the shivers when listening to "Parisian Walkways". Very sad... R.I.P

It is always sad when a great talent dies before their time

I always loved this video not only because the music is great, that is a given, but the way Gary Moore interacts with BB. BB really seems to be enjoying himself. Gary puts BB out front, while still playing a mean guitar!

R.I.P. Gary Moore, Indeed a great body of work to be remembered by, and with one of the greatest guitar bands in Thin Lizzy some of their best work. With Phil Lynott some great collaborations, and his wok in the blues for the last two decades has paved the future for some of the artists coming into their own now.
I know here in the UK, on any given weekend, in a pub there will be a band that has a song he has played on in their set list....and that say volumes for his popularity as a musician.

I auditioned for Gary around the time he did the Scars album. I knew I was up against two other guys, the bassist for Skunk Anansie, and someone else. I didn't get the gig, but I saw him when we did a tribute gig for Dick Heckstall-Smith. He was always cool with me, a little moody at times, but he loved the blues and he had a wicked sense of humour when he wanted.
The last time I saw him was at a pub in Chelsea. He had put on a little weight, but he looked fine. I'm shocked by this news.. I didn't expect this...

We're losing the icons, slowly... but surely.
