GAS

Is your GAS the thrill of the hunt or the feast? I think I know my answer.

A little of each, but I definitely love the hunt.

If you refer to the hunt as the chase... it is very similar to another pursuit I really enjoy but don't win at very commonly.

If I had a bass playing child I would tell him that he could have one dollar per hour of practice for gear. In that manner, he would always deserve his instruments. You get a two by four with pickups and strings until you have about four hundred hours of practice in....

Id tell him to practice on that 2x4 for a hundred and eighty hours and then go buy him a Squier Mustang. Then he play on that for four hundred hours and get a real Fender. It'll teach him some humility.

Its the thrill of the hunt

The angst of wanting and waiting on something ...

And the brief period of happiness when it arrives ...

For me it was an addiction. Look at my past gear list ,that's only about half of the actual gear. If I would have kept all of it I could have opened a music store.

A divorce (unrelated to gas) helped end my addiction . I'm paying her an amount equal to a used MIA fender bass in excellent condition every month now .
