GC Customer Service ACTUALLY helpful

I am still kinda baffled that I am actually writing this. Typically, I am the first to comment and bash the sub par customer service department at guitar center, however, their national customer service center (hotline #)is quite different. I placed an online order a few weeks ago for some Dimarzio pups and I later learned they were backordered. I called weekly for an update on the progress and they were all very helpful each time.

I was browsing through ebay today and found the same pups (brand new) for $30 cheaper than guitar center's price. The ebay store had no tax and free shipping. I called the service center for GC and spoke to a rep...I told them about the price and then she was able to match the price. Then to counter act the shipping and tax charges, she offered to throw other free items, none of which I needed so I politely declined. BTW, her name was Amelia. If you need to call their 1-800 number, I would highly recommend you ask to speak with her.

This was the first time a guitar center employee has gone above and beyond to make me happy and to make sure I was satisfied. Also, it was the first time that I've seen guitar center significantly alter their prices to compete with the market. This is completely different than their in-store "hard-lined" prices.

If you choose to deal with guitar center, I highly recommend you go through their online customer service department. They will treat you right!!
