Alright, I'm goin to GC tomorrow and I'm thinking of trading in my Epiphone (yes crappy epiphone) Thunderbird that just seems to collect dust, and my SWR LA 15 in order to pay for part of a rig. Total retail is $600 and I was wondering what I could expect them to lowball me with or if I would be better off craigslisting or ebaying it?

you're always going to be better off to ebay it or list it on TB

on TB you could probably get 50-75 percent of the retail price, if its in good condition.

I gotta tell you, spending 20 bucks to become a supporting member is going to be a lot more beneficial in the long run.

Selling on TB: Maybe 250 for the Thunderbird.
Selling to GC: Maybe 150.

20 bucks for a 365 day membership, allowing you the opportunity to buy and sell gear that you might not find anywhere else. Just skip the Starbucks and a pack of smokes for a week and there's your supporting membership.

you MIGHT get what you'd get for it on TB on ebay but you might not. It's kind of a gamble.

but Ebay will definitely get you more than Guitar center.

I suggest you NOT take your gear to Guitard Center! They will most assuredly lowball you! If you can't become a member here and post it for sale, try Craigslist or eBay.
