Has anyone done this? Will they really give me 15% off the M9 I want if I give them my old DigiDelay? Can you do this more than once?

Do a search for trade-ins. The consensus is that these ALWAYS work more to the benefit of the store than to the benefit of the buyer. You'd almost certainly do better to sell your doodad privately and just go to GC with cash in hand...privately you could get 50% of the new price, but GC might give you 20% plus 15% off the item you're buying.

I asked the manager at the GC I go to about it and he told me to sell it on CL and he would still give me the same discount on what I wanted. He said I am a good customer and he did not want to insult me. They have guide lines they have to go buy. The main one is ebay search for closed listings, average for at least 2-3 items then less 30-40%. doesn't leave much.....

well this can be true. They were going to give me $260 for my peavey t max, which is about what I paid for it, because they have a couple on their website for $399 or something. The only reason I backed out was because the amp I was going to buy (used) sold the day before I got there.

I've traded them the same Crate guitar head (for $50) that I bought from them for $100 years before which they then turned around and sold for $100 again. So I know how they work. I was just curious if anyone had any experience with this promo.

15% off the M9 is $60 which is more than I'd expect to get for the delay. The way I see it, anything they offer me is icing on the cake. A $20 offer becomes $80 off the M9 and so on.
