Gear that you purchased solely by recommendation from TB users.

I tried Genz Benz gear based on the opinions of others on TB having tried or used their products. Now I own a GBE750, GBE600 (amps) & GB 410T-XB2, NEOX 212T (cabs)

I bought an Eden WT-550 and Schroeder 1210R based on KJung's comments, a Glockenklang Heart Rock and Double cab based on KJung's and Tom Bowlus' comments, an EBS Multicomp based on bongomania's comments and lots of other pedals. Living in a small greek town, trying out high-end bass gear usually means buying it, so TB is my main consultor, together with sound clips (which I usually also find here). I always do a lot of reading, and I'm rarely disappointed.

Heh, I sort of ignored the dingwall rave reviews because of the fanned frets... luckily, I got the chance to play a few and I was hooked. The owner is actually a TB member, so you could count my Prima as a TB purchase to some extent as well

Where to start? This stupid site has cost me a fortune!

Without this site I would not have bought:

Markbass F1
SansAmp RBI
BBE Sonic Maximizer
My Sadowsky NYC bass
Sadowsky Preamp/DI
Squier VM Fretless and having it relic-ed by ibanezcollector
Fender Geddy Lee Bass

Oh and about $100 worth of TB wear!

$5k+ i would guess.

Thanks guys.

I learned about Thunderfunk and Bergantino on this site. Most of my bass player buddies still haven't heard of either of these brands.

I also took the Markbass plunge due to the buzz on the site.

Vic and Tom B. turned me on to Skjold, and finally.... I probably wouldn't have learned about the Alleva-Coppolo without seeing a couple of threads about them.

I love this site!

Found out about Stambaugh and Thunderfunk from TB. Like KJung, most of my bass player friends haven't heard of either of these brands either.

I've been aware of Gallien-Krueger since the 70's - but was steered to the 1001-RBII instead of a Hartke or the 700-RBII here. Good decision!

Also, My new Audere pre in my BEAD Jazz - LOVE IT!!! (BTW) get to try it out this weekend on a gig.

Aguilar 1x12. Great size, weight, price but I didn't like tone, so I sold it. Oh well.

I had a terrible experience with GK a few years ago which made me completely disregard the brand. I had also seen/heard about other GK's being unreliable. From coming on Talkbass, I found out that my GK and all the other ones I heard about were 700/1001RB MK1's and are known for overheating and other problems.

I read so many good things about older 800RB's on here that I just bought one, should be here today actually. Never thought I would own another GK product, but we will see how this one goes.

Also waiting on a Barge Concepts blender, I had never heard about it before coming here, I was almost about to spend huge amounts of money on the Xotics.

Ampeg V4BH, Bergantino NV610 - both are the best sounding bits of kit I own!!!!!
Also -yet to be recieved, but coming asap, AMPEG SVT2!
MArk BAss LMII 50% from TB 50% from my own experiences with 'em.

The V4BH thru the NV610- is the sweetest sounding bass sound I've ever heard live & is absolute JOY to perform with week in/out. My Fender 300PRO is awesome too, but comes in 2nd to the V4BH.-Close 2nd tho!!

A Jazz bass. I've never liked them; the ones I've played sounded fine but were uncomfortable and heavy. I bought a used Squier (not spending big $$ on a bass I historically didn't like) and have been pleased with it so far. I'm getting it setup professionally to eek out every last drop of playing goodness before making a final decision but it's pretty nice so far.

Being a newbie to gigging I was in desperate need on what amp/cab to buy for the venues I play in. Thanks to the great posts on TB I went out and bought an LM II + epifani UL310 and couldn't be happier
Thanks and keep posting!!
