I just wanted to share my excitement with TalkBass.

I've never seen this experience live in concert, so I'm hoping it will be one for the ages. 830PM at our new House of Blues.

Well, besides the fact that House of Blues pulls the plug on performers at midnight, it was a great show. I still think the room needs a different speaker setup because those JBL Vertec line arrays just aren't working too well. The drums needed adjustment.

Parliament opened it up with Michael "Clip" Payne at the helm (who just makes it look so easy playing that six string) and featured some Houston rappers (e.g., Scarface). It was cool.

They brought the funk. They're just one of those shows where it seems like they only play three songs because the transitions from song to song are done without thought. Did some old tunes, some new tunes. They're a spectacle for sure. Kim Manning did her little white girl spacey rollerblade dance. And they brought out a new member (whose name I can't recall) who did a POWERFUL cover of Aretha's "Mr. Feelgood."

Well worth it. Now I can finally say I've seen him live in concert. Woohoo!!!
