AND..I'M BACK OUT..

I was looking forward to performing..FOR PAY again. Music genre was irrelevant..PAY WAS IMPORTANT.

Manchester area is beautiful country. Wife and I arived early; not too much going on: Stage was set-up; working out PAdilimmas with a new board.

So rest of band arrives..We are second of 3 bands;going on stage at 8PM... OK..We made the best of it; watching good ol country girls and boys gettin down on the farm...

Bishop-fest is this guys birthday bash. He hires bands and charges admission to his field to see bands..and BYOB RENECK PARTYING. As my wife and I chose to remain sober..LOOONG COMMUTE.. It was boring to watch the sound crew fiddle as we sweltered in the heat and humidity with redneck drinkin an partyin..HEY Y'ALL... Frankly, I was surprised that no one got out of hand; not motivated to any behavior other than drinking and gawking at everyones significant other.

My wife had a chat with the singer. They have a huge PA and would buy a small light package next....BUT AS "WE" MAY HAVE SOME JOBS OUT OF TOWN, WE..THE BAND.. WILL BU YA PULL-BEHIND CAMPER...[ Is this band ever gonna make any money?]

Our set went OK. I was disappointed in our lead singer, who sang [lyrics] from a notebook on a highschool music stand. He did typical silly;non instrumental antics; more of a comedian.

At close I found out that due to accounting, weren't getting our money until next rehearsal MONDAY. Singer calls Sunday offering a highly detailed explaination for Saturday's dilemma and reason we won't get our pay Monday either; not until after next gig, next SSaturday, so I cut mty losses..wished them luck and quit. Rest of the band probably wouldn't care if we never got paid.

Thanks for letting me vent...

Yeah, tha Alamo is about the best stage in the Coweta-Fayette co. area for sure. Nice folks and great pizza. What do you other southsiders know about The Twilight bar and grill up on Raymond Hill rd? Any good?

Are you looking for a band? The band I QUIT OVER THE WEEKEND WILL OBVIOUSLY NEED A BASS PLAYER....

GIGS BOOKED REST OF THE YEAR: Bookings near and far. I was not a good fit over-all; better off for all for me to quit.

They have massive PA and trailer, good rehearsal space..and REHEARSAL IS IN NEWNAN VICINITY; in the area known as "Madras", off HWY 29....Send me a PM if interested..or respond here if you prefer.

Anyone else?? Genre is mostly classic rock with a touch of country. Band does not practice loud enough [ or space is big enough]for me to require ear plugs. Your experience may vary.

Hey Guys!

Hey Guys, a fellow local Atlanta Bassist had His home broken into Yesterday, and gear stolen. If You would, please keep an eye out for His gear and let Him know (via PM) If You manage to stumble upon any of it.

Here is the thread He posted this morning with the details:
Stolen basses alert in Atlanta

I'm hoping for a speedy recovery of His gear, and thanks in advance for any help!

Thumbs up Gainesville GA.

Count me in please kind sir. And if you could, I'd like to be my lucky #77 to match my other club. Maybe you can fill in the gap later?

Checking in from NE Atlanta, guess I could grab #72. Our band is The Sagamores, originals rock-ska playing Sat. 3/23 at Jerry Farber's Side Door in Buckhead. Comedy there too!
