George Clinton is an icon. It doesn't matter how hot it is outside or how advanced in years our icons become. We need them -- we need him -- to stay edgy. Otherwise, what does that say about us? Come on, George, we need your mojo back!
|
Do you really think his hair is his mojo? I like him with or without the colorful hair. Now he can be more incognito at festivals, or at the mall.

(Although it's really hard to deduce from a small full body picture, I think he looks better without the Cindy Lauper Hairdo) |

George Clinton can come out in the peacock wig, and drapery-esque outfits, or shorts and a t shirt, he's still P-funk no matter what. When a commentator says "they" need him to get his mojo back, they have no real idea what George Clinton the musician is about, only the image, and that is a very sad reflection of where our society is as a whole. Stupid, trendy, look oriented neophytes who believe their opinion actually means more than someones personal choice.
Give me P-funk in any matter of attire, and it's going to funk your world like no other. |

I don't care what George shows up in as long as he shows up. One of the best people in music bar none. One of my favorite P-Funk shows was at Red Rocks during the smokin grooves tour. The Radiators, Taj Mahal, et al. with P-Funk on last. The people parked next to us had never heard of George. I saw them at three other George shows after that. Nuff said.

Unmistakable who it was. Really nice guy, shook my hand when I apologized...said "No need, it's good to look around...take it all in"

Oh, and moved to Misc.

maybe hes giving up on the wild antics? or maybe its not that big of a deal...? |
