Which gig bag for bass and amp ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi
since I have got my new TC electronic head, I'm looking for a gig bag to carry it with my bass.
I know Igig cases: http://www.flyigig.com/
Someone knows others ?

I like the Roadrunner bags - pretty thick, lots of zippers. U can find em used real cheap.

The iGig is the only one I'm aware of that has room for the somewhat large RH450, has heavy duty enough construction to have a head weighing 9 pounds in the pocket, and a enough room for strap and cables.

Be warned, that case, with that head, and a bass, and the rest of you stuff, will be a back breaker.... probably approaching 30 pounds.

I bought one of those bags and I won't recommend them. One of "back pack" straps broke off where it connects to the bag when I was putting it over my back. The bag wasn't even 4 months old when this happened.

I carry my P bass, strap, cable, spare cable, small tools, chord charts, tuner and LMIII in an iGiG. Works great and is holding up well. It is not unusual for me to tote all my stuff around three times a week.

The leather Probag (the company that made the gig bags for TheLowEnd.net) with the saddlebag option will fit one pretty easily.

That sucks! I've had mine for a while and never had a problem. I'd just sew it if that happened anyways probably.

I'm just saying, its a nice alternative instead of paying close to $300 for a gig bag - at that rate, I'd get an ATA case or something.

I've used a couple of iGig bags for a year now and they have been EXCELLENT! That's 4 nights A WEEK, every week, for the past year! My amp, a Markbass Tube 800, fits in the front pocket! You'd have a hard time convincing me to put my basses in something else...

I've got a least one more bass coming, and one more amp, and I'll buy another iGig bag!

Is there protection between the pouch and the bass on the igig? I think I would be nervous putting my head in there . . . more so for protection of the bass

I have a Mooridian w/ a fairly large pouch, but there is only a little foam between the pouch and the bass . . . fwiw there are small bags w/ a shoulder strap to carry both.

Roadrunner products seem to get a lot of negative hype, but in contrast, I own one of their soft shell cases and two of their hard shells and have never had a single problem with any of them. I also have their pedal board soft shell case and it`s been working fine for me thus far.

Yeah, the padding is there. I carry it in the bag with either my brand new Spector Forte 5 or my almost new Stingray 5. It is getting kinda heavy tho...

I use the bag that came with my Lakland Skyline for the bass, a Shuttle 6.0 (in it's Shuttle bag), a Korg DT-10 stompbox tuner and all the necessary cables. It's a bit tight but it's held up for over a year. It's a nice bag - I wish I knew who made it.

I bought a case for my phone from these guys a few months back, and noticed they had some pretty sweet gig bags as well: http://www.goincase.com/products/det...-bag-cl56065/1.

I really like Incase bag but I'm not sure I can put my RH450 in the pocket...
It seems that Igig is still my favorite.

+1...great bag, but all of the available storage is almost too much of a good thing.
