I'm in the market for a new gig bag. I'd like to keep the price under around $75.
Any suggestions?

Fairly chunky side-strap, a good sized pocket for all your stuff like tuners and cables (mine even fits a small sheet music book), thick padding on the inside and inside straps to tie the bass in safely.

I have one of their cases for my acoustic guitar and it is hands down the best case I have ever owned. I feel 100% confident that if it was banged around or dropped (within reason, I'm not talking off the roof of a building or anything) it would be perfectly fine. The construction and quality is way better than anything I've seen on similarly priced products. I've gotten several very curious players ask what kind of case it was because they could tell it is different from far off. Do yourself a favor and at least see if GC has any of their products for you to check out.

| | | | What bass are you getting the gigbag for? Will it fit in your average gigbag for bass? My two fave gigbags are: Roadrunner deluxe,, their best padded one. For basses of average dimensions. And the BC Rich deluxe guitar gigbag (for most basses of any shape except extra long ones like warlocks. They sell for $49.99 at MF. (The guitar version will barely fit thunderbirds to btw and do fit mockingbirds, eagles, and innovator basses) Otherwise if longer bass then most, the bc rich deluxe bass guitar gigbag.

I don't think either one of those could match the WolfPak case that saustindavis linked to. Thanks for that link, btw, I think that's the case I'm going to get for my Mockingbird.

| | | | I myself generally do not screw around with "gig bags" I usually get hard shell cases for my basses. One of those padded shell cases would work too, however hard shell's just protect better IMO. |

While those soft cases (like the Wolfpak) look pretty nice, to be honest, I can't stand big square cases - even thought the Protec's shape has me thinking.
One of my students has the RoadRunner bag, and its not bad, except for the big external pocket - it isn't deep or tall enough to hold music!

| Yeah I wish they came in a triangle shape like my acoustic case. That is the one and only downside IMO.
