Gig in NJ this weekend and a question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi friends,

I'm going to be gigging with my old band this Saturday night at:

SHERIDAN'S LODGE, 631 LIMECREST RD, ANDOVER NJ (973) 383-7577

I played for over 15 years with these guys, and do occasional fill-ins from time to time.

www.fbnrocks.com is their website.

I find doing fill-ins to be fun and less stressful than being a full-time member. What do you guys think?

No real comment... but I grew up around there. I use to travel Limecrest Rd all the time.

I've usually stuck to original gigs which makes subs and subbing rather difficult. I have sat in with a few cover gigs for friends over the years... never really gave it much thought. In hind sight, it was more like work to me than playing with my own bands.

I can see your point. I have ALWAYS played cover tunes, so I have amassed quite a library of tunes. This has come in handy as most bar bands play alot of the same tunes. Plus I have a good ear for learning tunes on the spot. I find being a hired gun easier, and you don't have to deal with the DRAMA that happens in most band member situations.

It also depends on how much you want to play out and how much control you want over your schedule, with last minute sub calls and such.
