So basically, this girl asked me if i could teach her to play bass guitar, and i think she would probably want to learn real notes and stuff.
But all i can really show her would be like techniques and some easy songs, because i doubt she would be interested in learning metallica.
What i am really wondering is would it be worth learning to read music and like how to actually teach music, or should i just show her some simple stuff that i know?

Also, Welcome to TB.
On an unrelated note I noticed you're from mackay, did you go to the Darcy Pullman gig? |

But, if you're asking if you're qualified enough to teach? If you have to ask, I'd say no, but I'm only referring to properly teaching bass

This is only the case if she is your type.. |

| | | | If I were in your shoes (hopefully you wear 11 wides or larger, or my feet will hurt in your shoes.) I would tell her exactly what you CAN teach her, and see what she thinks. Generally, if someone is inspired to play an instrument from listening to a certain person play (i.e. You) then they would like to play somewhat like you. Thus, teach her how you play. If nothing else, by the time she can play at your current level, you will have advanced enough to teach her more.
More teaching = More "face-time" with this girl.
Go for it dude, an actual female wants to spend time with a bass player, MAKE HISTORY!
No Pics = No female that wants to play bass! (no offense to any TB gals that already play bass, you just happen to have a larger FIGURATIVE sack than Chuck Norris already! Bass chicks rock!)
