I got to see them for free last night in Toronto. I would've paid 80 bucks to see this show. It was phenomenal. We got there as the first (I think) band was ending, and they weren't very good, so no loss. And then the greatest thing I have ever seen at a concert occurred:
These girls (apparently known as Suicide Girls) came out on stage and danced to songs like Woman (Wolfmother) and Immigrant Song. However, their 'dancing' was definitely more 'strip-tease' than anything.. and they were hot as hell. They had little bits of tape over their nipples, but pretty much every guy in the place was applauding with great enthusiasm by the time they were even halfway done (were on for about 30 minutes). God bless women.
Sebastian Bach and his new cronies came out after and played about 50 minutes of awesome stuff (new and old), very enjoyable.
And then the main event, started at about 11:35 and ran until 2:00 or so, including encore. They played everything.. literally. Every hit, every extremely popular song (I even think all of Appetite, can't confirm though) They had very good guitar players (3 of them inf act), and I didn't even care that I could barely hear the bass at times. Axl can still wail, which was a relief, as that's what I feared would be the worst part about the show.
Everything about last night was amazing, including getting home at 3am and having to get up 3.5 hours later to get to work on time. I would do it again tonight in a heartbeat. |
