well im going away to boy scout camp tomorrow around 12 and the site my troop is staying in has electric so i figured. im going to be there for a week so might as well take the bass for my down time. but what im curious about is i live in new jersey and it get humid during the summer and we are sleeping in LEAN-TO's which is basiclly a half a cabin. So what i need to know is what is the best way to keep my bass in the summer heat.......hard case, soft case inside plastic bag, hardcase and plastic bag or what...

A hardcase would probably be best. But, it might not be the greatest idea to bring an electric instrument (and amp) to be that exposed to the elements

Leave it home. Take the week off. You'll regret it if anything that happens to your bass at camp!!!

I'm actually in the same situtation that you are in right now Ben. I've decided not to bring a bass, even my most crappy, because I don't like the idea of warped necks.

I always take my cheap acoustic guitar to camp, I think I've only been to one or two camps without it. If you have an acoustic, take it instead (bass or guitar).

I've brought basses and guitars to camps successfully, but only when we were staying in cabins.

In addition to the whole issue with the elements, you can't really lock it away so someone can't walk off with it.. or futz around with it, when you arne't in your camp.

Leave it at home... seriously...
