Going deaf, not music related

I have a degenerative condition and my hearing has steadily gotten worse over the past few years. I'm looking into hearing aids now and was wondering if there were any standouts for bassists? I've seen a lot of claims regarding classical musicians, singers, etc. but I'm curious to know of any recommendation by this particular forum. Cheers, -Pk

I would talk to your doctor, hopefully a specialist in the field of hearing. He could lead you to a hearing aid that picks up low frequencies very well, and maybe would reccomend a different one for every-day stuff.

My great-grandmother just paid $5,000 for a hearing aid, so whatever you do, choose wisely.
