Going to Sydney Australia! Bass shops?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm going to Sydney this Saturday for a business trip. I'm staying near the opera house.

Does anybody have any recommendations for good bass shops to check out while I'm there?

Thanks!

Don't know why you'd be looking at basses in Australia...unless you want to experience some serious sticker shock

There's a semi-decent shoppe in Paramatta (a western suburb of Sydney). I don't know of any decent shoppes in Sydney proper. When I lived in the area, I only had one bass (my Carvin) and didn't do much GASing (I have talkbass to thank for that......LOL )

Victoria...about 1 1/2 hours west of Melbourne...

While you're at it, why don't you stop in New Castle, PA (near Pittsburgh) and pick up my P-bass copy from my folks' house and stop over here in Queensland with it

The bass player shop in sydney just shut down (bad management), but Jacksons rare guitars on parramatta road is worth a look. They specialise in old fender & vintage stuff. Had a really nice 63 P'bass in there a while ago. Very expencive but nice for Gassing! Only about 15 min out of the city (off peak time). A few guitar shops along that stretch of road up till the car yards. Also check out Tomkins guitars in Ryde. www.tomkinsguitars.com He (allan) will show you what I use & love everyday. Tell him Rusty Cochrane sent you!

Cheers
Rusty
