India.Arie's cd has just been certified gold, so that means that the rodent, as sexy as I am (especially in an emerald green Speedo thong ) has a gold plaque coming.

Only if you wear it backwards, Ala Kris Kross from the nineties.
That trend would spread like wildfire, but would probably lessen any chances at future children. |

I went into the bathroom and put my uniform shirt and jeans on backwards and walked back out. Man was that a wedgie.

How many copies do you have to move for Gold where you live?
On another point, and this is going to sound like a downer, sorry:
Did you know that Gold/Platinum etc records are given for the amount of units ORDERED by the record stores, not necessarily the amount SOLD?? Therefore you could find "gold" records filling up the sales bins.....
Sorry....
Congrats again!!

Congrats again!! | Thanks. It's not a downer, it's a fact. I've been doing this for over 15 years, and you're right. However; once they ship the orders, they're sales as far as Motown's concerned. They figure once all of the smoke clears, she'll probably go platinum in the US.

That's great, Woochuck.
I, along with some musician friends, were some of the first people to be listening to India.Arie down here in Australia - no one we knew had heard of her! This was just as Acoustic Soul came out. She's very talented.
