Gonna focus more on guitar

I started playing guitar around the same time I started playing bass. I think for the moment, I shall focus more on playing guitar.

I probably won't master two-handed tapping, but I still think I should learn to solo.

My main GAS list is pretty much set in stone. I think that I will be happy as long as I have a Gibson Les Paul, and an all-valve Marshall half-stack. As for effects, I can think of many, but I'll probably be content with just a wah pedal, a whammy pedal, and a digital delay.

While my main influences are rock and metal guitarists, such as Slash, Hendrix, Tom Morello, Dimebag, and others, I will listen to some funk and jazz, you know, just to expand my boundaries.

I wonder if there's a Talk Guitar forum similar to this one.

EDIT: I should really expand my influences list. I also consider Matt Bellamy, Noodles, Josh Homme, Adam Jones, Santana, Jerry Cantrell, Jimmy Page, John Petrucci, and The Edge to be great guitarists as well.

Don't forget to toss some blues in there. Getting down some solid blues chops will be a solid foundation for anything you'll play in rock. Buddy Guy and Albert King are a good place to start.

Also, don't focus solely on soloing. Spend time learning as many chords as possible. Also, funk is great music for getting your rhythmic chord chops down.
