This Thursday July 28th, between 8 & 9AM on FOX-2 News in Detroit. The R & B band I am in; Soul Quest will perform live...no taping.
We could get bumped for a political scandal or someone's talking dog. For now however, we're scheduled to be on!
I'll wear something nice.
Should I play the 3-tone r/w w/tort Precision or, the black Precision V w/maple?

Hope I don't suck!

It was actually our second time to appear (2 years prior) so we were more relaxed and it still helps out with the bookings since it creates a very professional product to watch for potentail customers.
A word of advice if I may, bring a sound guy. We did and it made a huge difference as we run about 20 channels with all of the drums, synths and voc's and he knew exactly what we needed to sound good. We also used our PA gear(mixer/effects/compressors) with just the monitors and no mains with the two Stereo XLR's to the station system. Worked out really good and the station guy was very happy that he didn't have to figure it all out.
PS. I agree on the Sunburst as I too went that direction with my MM and am still very hapy with the results.
Here the vids if anyone is interested:

So congrats! Relax and enjoy and don't think about the millions of viewers watching Sorry, couldn't resist. |

If we do well footage wise, we can always dub better audio. it will be interesting and fun.
Thinking the 3-tone myself...but the fiver feels really good to play too!

Using the TV monitor in studio, I tried to keep the bass on camera best I could but the darn camera man kept movin' around.
It was easy!

You should also throw a mirror pickguard on it so everyone knows you're there.

Thanks or polling tho'. Depending upon which full time act I get into, I'll choose a guard based on that bands' style. Leaning to tortise shell.

As I was playing along, I noticed a break on the video monitor and figured something went haywire, which is confirmed in the playback. During the guitar solo, you would get an awesome shot of my rig except that for promotional purposes, I covered it with a Jam For Vets t-shirt. LH1000 going through a LDS 2 x 10 ported cab. Jam for Vets Project Performs on FOX 2
It was fun and went quick. We received good feedback about it all.
Hope you enjoy it.

You look like you were havin' a great time. I saw a couple of "bass faces" there! The bass sounds just fine on my computer speakers, and it looks great on TV, too. You just cannot beat a sunburst/tort/rosewood Fender!

Great performance throughout.
Edit: Damn, Dave beat me to the introductory adjective.
