Good cases?

Sign in to disble this ad
I saw a thread recently about good gig bags and wondered if people could recommend some nice hard shell cases?

I don't need a flight case or anything super nice, just something sturdy, something that will protect my bass and has enough padding on the inside to keep the bass from moving around too much.

I'd like suggestions for a case that could fit either an Ibanez Soundgear or a Fender P bass.

Fire away.

TKL molded cases are inexpensive and work well. The 8536 should fit:

Gator makes some hybrid cases that are lighter and darn near as protective.

My favorite Hard case is the old Fender Chainsaw plastic case. It's light, easy to carry, and protects the guitar well.

My all time favorite case is the Incase Slim Bass Bag. It protects as well as the Fender, and holds a ton of gear. I really like the back pack straps, and pocket storage.

I bought mine here in the Emporium. They come up once in while, but they go REALLY fast.

I have the Gator from the link above and I hate it. It does protect, and it's light, but that zipper is a pain in the rump. Also, if it ever breaks, you have a heck of a job replacing the zipper, or you have to buy a new case.

I have a store brand case from Musician's friend or Sam Ash, I don't remember which. It's a molded plastic case with three latches. It's manufactured by skb. For the price, it's a heck of a case.
