Good and Cheap MP3 player for practicing

Sign in to disble this ad
I use a cheap Sansa MP3 player right now for playing songs while practicing bass. For the most part it works fine, but its rewind capability is very limited. It only skips back in large jumps. When I want to work through a part of a song repeatedly, it doesn't work well.

What do you guys use when practicing? Is there a better MP3 player that has accurate rewind? I want to keep it cheap, since this gets thrown in my pockets and such, so if I break the screen (has happened before) it's not too big a loss.

Thanks,

MX

I tried a Sandisk Sansa Fuze. The fast-forward/rewind was a lot smoother. But when I tried to use it for practicing, it immediately became obvious that something was wrong. All the songs were not in key. After some testing, I determined that it was playing about 1.1% slow. So if my bass was in tune, the song played by the Fuze sounded comparatively flat. The Fuze is going back to the store.

Still looking....
