Normally, I play ska, classic rock, punk ect. stuff but every so often I like to learn a good funk or an oldschool rap riff. So if anybody could point me towards a cool riff, that would be awesome.

Ha beat me to "rappers delight"

AKA Good Times by Chic

I figured out Cosmic Slop by Funkadelic... I gotta convince King Bowman to cover that song!

"Dazz" is a pretty good one, and so is "Boogie Oogie Oogie".

Let me suggest "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash, the main riff only consists of two notes, but it's still pretty damn cool.

"Hot, Hot Summer Days" by Sugarhill Gang, Doug Wimbish on the '75 Jazz. Easily the BEST hip hop bassline ever!
