...And what do you mean by "good"? What do you want it to do? What do you want it to sound like? What are you hooking it up to? Etc. etc.

Give us information if you want any help.

Sorry guys, didnt realize how vauge I was being. By good I mean something I can run a guitar into and then go into an amp. I'd like distortion, mids, and possibly 2 channels. Budget is 250$ or less.

Look into Blackstar pedal. They got them from clean preamp to overdrive to distortion to more distortion.
Amazing pedals.

I have no experience with my guitar through Line 6 POD... but I've run my bass through guitaramp models on a POD X3 into my bass rig.
Pleasant results and to the extremes my bass sounds like it's been played through a guitar rig.

Edit: also a plain guitar distortion pedal that might suck on bass (subjective) through your bass rig might sound wonderful with a guitar.

In the long run you might be getting a guitaramp though.
Fender has a nice small amp, the Champion 600 wich is small and cheap... for bedroom practice only off course.

also, forgot about:

Sansamp Character series.
My guitarist liked the California so much he bought the 3 others.

California and Liverpool get a lot of playtime in our band through his solidstate guitaramp.

Or Might hit up the local music go round. I don't like buying used electronics though, but I will.
