Good Old Country

Sign in to disble this ad
During the commercials of the sports talk radio show i was listening too, i was looking for another station found a very staticy station playing old country, John Conlee, and some others i dont' know their names. I've always kinda hated country, so damn depressing, but i was digging it for some reason the other night.
Anyone have any suggestions for old country artists to listen too? i'm talking stuff from the early 80's and back

Some personal semi-modern favorites: Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jerry Reed.

More old-school: Loretta Lynn, Roger Miller, Hank Williams Sr., George Jones, Lefty Frizzell.

And add Johnny Bush, Red Steagall and Ray Price for 'real' country shuffles; Tex Williams, Spade Cooley and the master, Bob Wills for western swing; Conway Twitty, Hank Thompson, Bill Anderson, and Kitty Wells for honky-tonk country (the kind you probably hate); Warner Mack, Dave Dudley and Red Sovine for truck drivin' country.

There's a million of 'em...
