Not a suggestion per se, but here's a cautionary tale on the matter.

Anything by Tenacious D. "**** Her Gently" is highly recommended.

Sweet Child O Mine the opening bass line is instantly recognizable, if she's a GNR fan you'll prolly make her blush.

+1.

It also gives you the instant advantage of knowing what she's into.

And she'll know you care.

The song that guy in Animal House was singing on the stairs just before John Belushi smashes his guitar.

to be serious for a moment, look at "caro mio bien." its a very popular italian aria, that would sound nice with bass or guitar. be warned, u should only attempt it if u can really sing (cause i sure cant). but girls like italian love songs. wats not to like?

Invincible by Muse, arrange it for accoustic guitar and she'll have ripped off your clothes before the second chord.

Find Her, Feel Her, **** Her, Forget Her by The Four F Club

Seriously though, don't worry about what the song is, just be able to play/sing it well and hopefully she won't think you're a dork for trying to croon at her. Let her hear you at a local open mic night before you go and try the sappy, on one knee, Belushi-is-about-to-smash-my-guitar crap.
