I also downloaded G strings on my phone. Haven't used it yet. But it's free,

I've got the Gibson tuner, but it's not great for bass. It might help get you in the vicinity, but nothing beats a real Pitch Black tuner.

I use Gstrings to tune my double bass at home.

Peterson. It mis-reports the E string as a B sometimes, but it still gives you an accurate reading on whether its sharp or flat.

The pitch accuracy is better than any hardware pedal tuner I've owned. With regular tuners, I find myself second-guessing the pitch lock (especially the #$@!!! Planet Waves), but the Peterson is actually better than my own ears...

I find that when I tune with the Peterson app, it seems like my bass stays in tune longer. I think it's just because you're so perfectly centred on the correct pitch, that it takes longer to drift far enough to be noticeable.

Gstrings works fairly well and quickly. It's good when you're in hurry or forgot your tuner at home, or if your batteries die.

Pitchbot. 3 dollars I believe and it works great. Honestly I believe it's better than my Ibanez pedal tuner. Most used app on my phone.

Another vote for the Peterson. Money well spent.

peterson one is great, plugged into phone with it and a strobostomp and I don't know why I spent so much on that pedal now, other than the mute and sweeteners which I never use anyways, they function the same, just as accurate.

That's the one I have. Very accurate, easy to use.
