Yep, I have GAS but not sure what I have it for? I have all the effects I need in a Boss Me 50 B and I like my Straps, cords and amp. I am even happy with my basses(yamaha bb3000 ma and rbx375).
So what could I be GASsing for?
I have been racking my brain and cant figure it out.
Anyone else ever have GAS but not sure what they are GASsing for?

I have been in the same boat as you. Im in it right now actually, thats why Im looking for a P Bass, and I just bought and sold a fretless bass. Its time to just try stuff out now that Im happy with my setup. |

I'm always curious as why instructional material is never considered gear. Shouldn't anything that's an avenue towards playing or sounding better be considered gear? If you already have this; I apologize for my assumption.
Then again, there's always P.A. equipment and recording.
I've always wanted to attend a bass clinic but oh well, love living in the Styx.
So I guess this brings up a point. Where exactly is the line between gear and other?

It's the SBD's of GAS. It will haunt your dreams! Go buy something QUICK!! God, another fart joke.

I quit buying new gear because what I got is more than sufficient for the bands that I make money from; I just need to replace a microphone which suffered a fatal fall recently. It's not perfect but I realize that better gear would not allow me to make any more money. I've got lots of crap to buy for my house, though - plaster, paint, furniture, tools etc. Maybe that's one reason why I've lost interest in buying things like clothes or music gear.
Also my last two gear purchases haven't worked out - the bands I bought it for proceeded to fall apart immediately when some key members found better-paying gigs.
I got a couple of fake books for Christmas two years ago - one jazz, one classical. That's excellent practice material. If looking to acquire some non-gear I would recommend that. Or maybe some bass clef excercises for wind instruments - tuba? Trombone?
