I attended the Summer NAMM show in Nashville last weekand want to give props to a great band I heard at the 3rd & Linsley club on Friday. Midnight Riders is an Allman Brothers tribute band headquartered in Nashville, and if you live there or anywhere within driving distance, go there and see them. You won't be disappointed.
Same setup as the original ABB -- two drummers, two guitars, bass & keys, and they absolutely nailed the ABB Sound. My band opened for the Allmans in 1971 when Duane & Berry were still onboard, and in all honesty I think the Midnight Riders are better. Great guitar work, especially slide, and the vocals were spot on.
