Yes but my favorite PJ albums (first three) sure as shine-ola bass presence.

yes, but she really kept the bassist out of the studio most of the time on To Bring You My Love, Is This Desire?, Uh Huh Her, White Chalk, and Let England Shake. I think on each of those there's maybe 1 or 2 cuts w/a bassist IIRC.

I couldn't get into the quieter albums. I tried.

I would marry PJ Harvey. Sorry Cat

definitely seems to be two camps w/PJ: those who like her earlier and louder punk-based material and those who like her quieter (if you can call To Bring You My Love quiet....) and more exploratory stuff. I personally enjoy the entire arc, kinda like getting into Bjork, you never know where she's going next. Doesn't matter, they have a licence to fly

Stories From the City... was a pretty good album too. No remarkable bass presence. Yeah I think I like her harder stuff; dislike her quiet work.
Bjork is an incredible songwriter and singer. I can't listen to her all the time but I recognize her genius. Didn't she & PJH sing together? I'll look on YouTube when I get a chance. Thanks for contributing to the discussion.

don't know if PJ and Bjork did anything together, wouldn't surprise me, but I know Thom Yorke has sung w/both.

Definitely a bassist in almost every tune of Stories..., sometimes kinda buried in the mix, though. Great album, likely my fav.

Good thread, thanks
