Well think of some bands that you know that you think most people don't know.

Some ones I like are Clutch and Jimmies Chicken Shack. Has anyone heard of them? what do you think?

Discuss.

Here in Australia you can guarantee the blank stare whenever you mention Rush.

I'm sure I would give you a blank stare if you said something about a popular Australian band. Besides ACDC or Jet. (i think jet is from Australia)

I really like Indie rock.....i have heard of both clutch and jimmy's chicken shakc.....haven't heard too much out of them lately......I like Archers of Loaf, Superchunk, Sebadoh, Grandaddy, Pavement, etc etc....the wierdest thing is my boss likes the same music.....blew my mind but now I have an easy way to suck up (trade cds)......but yeah living in rural SC I mention anything other than country or hip hop and i get blank stares .....oh yeah HUM is a grossly underrated band along with Sunny Day Real Estate

Porcupine Tree. I don't know why, but not many people know about them and they are one of the best bands around today.

Robin Trower was the first concert I went to in 75, COC is great, I like Infectious Grooves better than Suicidal Tendencies. JMO.

I TOTALLY agree with the morphine comment. I have never seen more blank expressions when people ask me about the bands i listen to. Even primus seems out in the blank of space to them.
