Great Bass Playing

I did a search of this guy's name (Marco Rodi) on the TB engine and didn't find anything, so I don't think it's a re-post. I was searching bass videos and came across this one. Thought maybe someone on here would enjoy it, the story behind it is cool too.

Sorry if it's a re-post, I don't think it is but I'll delete it right away if it is.

Anybody have comments on what looping/drum machine he's using? Fun stuff, inspires me to practice a bit more.

I'm not sure what to think of that... His chops are sick, and he sounds great, but man...his slap technique was weird. I give it an 8/10.

Almost as painful to watch as it was to listen to.

Not bad, not great either in my opinion. It was pretty much just a mumble jumble of ideas. Not very impressive after a couple of minutes. My favorite video of solo bass with a looping machine would have to Michael Manring's version of Teen Town on Youtube. There, he actually plays a song, not just a bunch of notes strung together with no consistent theme, style, or idea.
