Hi everybody.

One of the first things I tell to my students is "Always use a metronome. You must get one and bring it to the class". Thanks to that, I've seen many brands and models, but I've never been interested on buying one since I always use the one I have in my PC (is there something better than this for free?).

I must say that, from the ones I've used on class, I always liked the Korg MA-30 mainly because it's a great brand, but many of my students introduced me to this one.

Again, I never thought about buying a metronome, but this is one of the things you feel you must get because you can't believe such quality and such versatility at such a low price. At least where I live, the Korg MA-30 is more expensive and it isn't as versatile as this one. You can see it has lots of functions, plus it also comes with an earphone and a tuner clip for acoustic instruments. It's made in China, but I don't feel it like a disposable unit. It seems to be very solid and reliable. Of course I'm not related with that company, but I wanted to offer this piece of advice because this unit's features and price really convinced me. I'm using it right now and feel very happy with it.

Our favorite metronome is Fruity Loops. We've got quite a few basic drum riffs saved for different ideas, and then we just change the tempo for the speed of what we're writing. Hit play with repeat on, and endless riffing.

+1 on the Weird Metronome.

I'll always regret the earliest years of my playing because I didn't use a metronome. It's a hard job trying to get in time after first learning to play like ****. If only i had a teacher then telling me to use it.

BTW, has there been a poll on metronome usage (do you/don't you)? I think it would be interesting to see how many have the guts to say they don't use one.. Of course, if you're born with a clock in your chest it's fine.

I don't use one. Never have, never will, don't have a need to.

I use a Seiko or the Korg MA-30 to match my black Korg chromatic Tuner and my dad's silver guitar tuner.

That wierd metronome is great and it seems to be good timing. Very flexable too I can set it up just how I want it. Thanks for showing it to us
