Great Show (Gojira, MachineHead, Trivium, Lamb of God)

I went and saw Gojira, Machine Head, Trivium, and Lamb of God, last Saturday, March 22, at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg.

My God what an awesome show. I got there around 7 pm and Gojira was already on stage. 5 hours of metal. It was a very nice change of pace, this was one of the few metal shows that I could both hear and feel the bass most of the night. There were bits and pieces of the mix where you couldnt hear the vocals or guitar parts, but overall the bands had good mixes.

Had a great view of John Campbell of L.O.G. all night as he was right in front of me. The other bassists were all opposite stage all night. But its cool cause John's one of my influences. The guy from Trivum is also very good. He was the only one of the bassists that were playing finger style that night.

Any others in the area happen to see this one? And those of you that havent seen this show, its definately worth checkin out. It was sold out and I didnt have a ticket, so I had to go through a scalper. I thought I was gonna get raped over the coals, but I wound up only paying $20. That was much cheaper than what they were originally selling for. Ahhh what I great time! I havent had that much fun in a good long while.

Even got to floor my ex's friend in the pit! I'll have to write more on this later. Its late and I still have other stuff to tend to before hitting the rack.

I saw them in dc march 26. Gojira was awesome, the double bass was like a machine gun to my chest. Machine head was ok. Trivium kicked ass even though they were kind of sloppy, paolo's tone sounded sweet. A Lot of knuckleheads didn't like trivium, a lot jeers and taunts like screaming "lamb of god" when matt started talking between songs . By the time lamb of god went on stage, I had to go upstairs to the balcony for a better view. Lamb of god kicked ASS. awesome show.

Lamb kicked serious ass. They actually did one song without him, said he was sick and had to go backstage to **** or puke. Dunno if they did that on other gigs as part of the show or not though. Trivium is out of Orlando, so they're like homeboys here in the Tampa area too, nobody was knockin them.
