Gruv Gear Duo-Strap???

Has anyone bought one of these?
Would love some feedback on fit,comfort ,etc...
I have tried many new designs but never found one that worked well.

I'll be honest, it looks dorky (not that looks are suppose to matter.... but I don't many rockers using that... If I had a 6+ string than dure, but my 5s are not that heavy) There are other straps out there that use a belt that is less obtrusive but you need to add another strap button to your guitar. This would take more weight off of the shoulders (i.e. backpacking) where all the weight should be on your hips.

Edit: If the price was cheaper I woulnd't mind trying it for long practices. I am not a fan on how they mount it, With a single cut the leather goes around the top of the bass (and I can see rubbing occuring). You could also go the belt route which would work, but the quickest would be adding another strap pin to the back (which I really have no desire to do).

They don't ship until mid-March, I believe so you won't find many out there aside from a few choice endorsers who got the short run from the NAMM show. There should be much more out there in the forums after they hit the streets.

I've preordered. I've been looking for a nice double strap for years as even my skimpiest bass is causing me severe shoulder trouble these days on gigs where I stand. I really hope this thing delivers the goods!

Got mine today. Very well made, soft strap.

I could not find a comfortable position for the second strap over the horn my double cut sadowsky. Ordered the tension strap (another $12) which wasn't available online when I ordered mine. We shall see if that works. I needed one of those for my Fodera single cut anyways.

Just got mine today. Haven't had a chance to put it on my Warwick Streamer yet, but tonight definitely.

I'm pretty impressed at how much you can move the parts to "dial in" the strap. We'll see how well this works, but overall first impressions are very positive.

EDIT: Think I have it "dialed in" to my Streamer. Getting the length of the main strap was a piece of cake, and was so nice that I didn't have to drill a new hole into the strap (I wear my basses fairly high). This strap sits higher on my back than my previous one, so that is the biggest thing throwing me right now; doesn't feel familiar.

It took a little more fiddling to get the second shoulder strap at a spot where it was comfortable, but I think I'm there. The bass sits really well with it and the shoulder straps are pretty comfy. We'll see how this works over the long term; I have 9 gigs in the next 8 days with this bass so it'll be trial by fire.

I was about to order but then the $11.99 shipping was a big turn off. Seriously, it doesn't cost $11.99 to mail this when the USPO has flat fee shipping.

Is this only available from Gruv Gear?

It's flat shipping if it fits in the standard size USPS boxes; the Duo Strap does not. I'll write up a review later, but it's well worth the money.

Made up a quick vid of my thoughts on the DuoStrap. I tried to go in detail as to how it's adjusted, because there are a lot of options and lengths available; this is the first strap I haven't had to make a hole in so I could keep my basses as high up as I like.

I'm definitely gonna get one. I've been using a Wide Rides strap ( www.widerides.com ) and it's great, but this seems better.

The Wide Rides strap has a 4" memory foam pad for your shoulder, but the Gruv Gear strap seems even better, and with my back problems, I'll try just about anything to be able to keep playing.

I pinched a nerve in my back over a month ago and while it's better, it still bothers me (especially if I'm standing for a long period of time). My Pedulla is on the heavy side and if this strap will help, I'm all for it.

I've spent the last hour and a half trying to dial it in. Getting some neck dive since the back of the main strap is smooth leather so it slides. Not sure if it's the shape of the upper horn of the Pedulla but I can't seem to get the secondary strap snug enough to actually take some of the weight. I think a third hole on the end of the secondary strap may have been useful. Of course, this is probably all due to user error. I'll keep at it.

My previous strap was a 4" Levy's Leather one, which is a FANTASTIC strap but I still had some shoulder issues after long gigs, even when sitting down. The DuoStrap made playing this bass a lot easier on the back.

Keep at it and good luck! As I said, it took me a while to dial it in with my Streamer LX to where you saw it on the video. I've found that the tighter you can make that loop on the secondary strap (that goes over the upper horn), it will help in keeping the bass stationary.
