I've heard Guitar Center does trades or whatever to knock off some of the price on a guitar or bass. To keep me from going 2 or 3 hrs out of my way just to find that I was misinformed, I wanted to confirm it here. Help?

They will, but it'll be half of what they'll sell it for used. Not very much.

Whatcha got man?? Put up a twenty spot for a membership and sell it in the TB classifieds. You gotta ship it, but the money will be a whole lot better!!

To the OP.. Bro dont do it man. You'll get ripped! Sell it on TB or CL. You get three times what GC will give you for it. Remember they have to be able to sell it used and turn 40% minimum, just like a pawn shop.

generally GC's around here (seattle) will give about 70% of resale. still not great, but not as bad as it is in some areas apparently.

I have a Dean Edge 5FL fretless and a Dunlop Cry Baby bass wah I need to get rid of to upgrade to an ibanez. Hopefully a BTB series or and SR505. I have a post on sweetwater, but no replies. I'll prolly post em up on here in the next couple days rather than trade at GC in Memphis, TN. I probably will get screwed there.
