I understand GC's return policy but what I'd like to know is if anyone has bought and returned continually for a period of time.

Would store say, "Hey. Enough already. Either keep one or stop taking them home for 30 days."?

Eventually they would probably determine that your instrument is not in a returnable condition. I wouldn't play that game. All it takes is one slip-up and you have yourself an instrument you may not have been planning on keeping permanently.

I have worked retail as a manager long enough to deal with this. If a store feels you are abusing the return policy. they are fully within their rights to refuse future returns. Law does NOT require that stores return merchandise that is not demonstrably defective. and then, they are only required to return funds if they cannot replace the product to your satisfaction.

the noise bands from houston go on tour and destroy pedals, heads, cabs and drum machines and i believe they just return the stuff after it dies after only 3 or 4 shows

Yes, they could revoke your return privileges. Best Buy will do the same thing if you abuse their return policy.

This actually happened to me with Mars Music years ago.
I was just starting out on bass and was obsessed with effects...I just
kept buying and returning pedals all the time.....finally after a while they
said, "that's enough, we're not a lending outlet."

GC cut me off after 11 returns in a year. all within a day or two, not after shows or extended use. I have kept many in the meantime but I see their point and they were very polite about it and they always make sure I understand my purchase is non returnable. They have waived my ban twice for defects with no argument and once cause I damn near begged ( I bought a $1000 used SR5 and the wife was not near as enthused as I was....plus when I got it home it weighed 11 lbs....not the fight I want to fight).

No big deal since most other stores don't do returns at all!
