It's Guitar Center's WEEKLY BLOWOUT SALE! Squier Strats starting at 99 BUCKS! Buy one pair of drumsticks, get a drumset FREE! (massive delay on free) Keyboardists: Casio keyboards starting at 99 BUCKS!

This weekend only: Bring in your high school yearbook and we'll give you a Marshall stack, FREE!

Luckily, I can avoid all of that because my singer, guitarist, and drummer work at GC Having your drummer work GC Pro is not a bad thing either!

I was at the store where my drummer works and they had two Marcus Miller's right next to each other on the wall. One was tagged $699 or $799, the other was $1199

Doesn't matter....the local GC never has anything worth the drive. I'd rather see a sale on TB's FS forums...better selection and the guys (for the most part) know what they're talking about.

I can't stand guitar center. Idiot staff (mostly), boring stock that never changes, crap prices.

I go to Dave's, where I can get everything free or cheap.

What sales? Hasn't been the same since Bain took over...but with that said, there might not be a GC if Bain hadn't taken over.

Pay more at a local "Mom & Pop" place. GC blows. I won't even buy strings from them. They're good for checking out all kinds of stuff before you go and buy it somewhere else though.

The two GCs near me aren't good for checking out diddly. The "Rumble Room" is always full of J basses (MIA, MIM, Squier), all 4-string. Then there's maybe a couple of Ibanez, maybe a Schecter, and on rare occasions a Warwick (usually with the knobs missing) or a Stingray 4. Active basses never have the batteries in them. Amps are all Ampeg combos. Seriously, there is no reason for me to go in there to check out anything. They don't even carry the strings I like.

Sadly, we don't have any good mom & pop shops in RI either! Brockton MA is the closest decent music store (Boston Guitar Works)... but the closest GREAT music store is New Jersey Guitar & Bass Center... and that's a five hour drive. But worth it!!!
