I finally purchased a guitar (27" scale Agile 7-string... highly recommend Agile's at Rondomusic) after ~15 years of playing bass mainly in prog metal bands. With just a couple hours over a few days of getting comfortable with using a pick and all that... man, it is way easy.
As a fingerstyle bassist I usually have to go to great length (using slap, regular finger style, and mutes) to get really awesome articulation in the B string range with fast complicated rhythms. I've been doing 3 and 4-finger speed/accuracy exercises every time I practice for countless years just to maintain where I'm at.
On guitar you just shake the pick up and down and you can play just about anything rhythmwise, with excellent control. I feel like playing pick on bass (which I've dabbled in but never got committed to) you have to deal with the mechanical issues of the big strings.
Just a rant, having fun on guitar anyway.
