Pretty good guitar site with lots of knowledgeable people. Fairly well-moderated and thusly, a low signal-to-noise ratio.

Definitely geared toward botique & higher end equipment, but very down to earth and level headed people there. Quite a few top level pros hang there to so there is a wealth of info available.
The Fender Forum isn't bad either ( www.fenderforum.com/forum.html), but obviously geared toward Fender owners. It is a large forum though so there are a lot of decent people there and lots of info, but tends to be frequented more by your average bedroom player. Still a great site though.
DeliriumTremens, that's a great beer. Delerium Nocturnum is pretty good too. I think my fave of that lineup (DeHuyghe brewery I believe?) is Bier du Corsair.

Indeed it is brewed by Huyghe Brewery. |

TB is huge, I told a bass playin' buddy about it the other day and he was up late that night checking it out. What a great resource and community.

Be warned that g**tar players tend to be immature, ego-besotted wankers, who love to flame persons who happen to play different instruments or through other amps than themselves. Back when I was primarily a lead g**tarist, I sampled several forums: guitar.com, the one name above, and a couple of others. Every topic seems to degenerate into a "my g**tar/favorite g**tarist/footpedal/amp/instrument cord/whatever is better than yours, loser, and your mom dresses you funny besides."
I am much happier discussing basses with the other adults.

Q How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?
A Five. One to change it and four to criticize his technique
On a serious note, I am thankful for such a great resource as TalkBass. I know I've gotten invaluable help here and I hope I've been able to help others. |
